The total length of this ceremonial pipe is 21-3/4" long. The Steatite (commonly called Black Pipestone) bowl measures 5-5/16" long and it is 3" tall. This pipe in the shape of a traditional plains style pipe, however as you can see on the photo, it has an eagle claw grasping the bowl from the side, as if it's going to take the pipe bowl. I think of it as the eagle grasping the prayers that are coming out of the pipe bowl and delivering them to the Creator.

This Pipe would make a great ceremonial Pipe for someone. The stem has excellent draw and the bowl is drilled out to allow plenty of room for tobacco if the buyer intends to use it for ceremony. This pipe is nice-sized and would work well as a personal pipe also.

Steatite or Black Pipestone is a material that has been used for 1000's of years by Native Americans. It holds up extremely well under heat, so it's ideal to use this for ceremonial pipes.

This pipe is signed by Hapan. The stem is made out of Hardwood Ash. It is decorated with traditional Sioux beadwork in 2 different places and it also has some nice, soft, deer leather fringes.

If you are interested in this ceremonial pipe, or have any questions about it, and would like to see additional pictures, for ex: a different angle of the pipe, a close-up of the beadwork, etc..., please email us or give us a call.
