Are you interested in making your own Native American Pipestone or Catlinite Ceremonial Pipe? Are you finding it difficult to find any good information that will help you through the process? As many of you know Native American tradition is a very oral tradition. Instead of writing stories or certain techniques down on paper, they are often simply shared by elders passing down the information by telling stories or demonstrating first hand the idea/technique they want to pass on. We feel that this may be the reason that it is so hard for many people to find good information on different Native American subjects, like this one. They simply don't have access to a Native American elder who can help them.
Due to an increasing number of people like yourself, who want to make their own pipe, we have put together these simple directions or instructions for you at no charge. We encourage those of you who have questions to feel free to email or call us and we'll do our best to help you out.
For those of you who are going to be working with a raw piece of stone that you've purchased, you will want to start by looking at "Step 1".
