The total length of this Large Ceremonial Eagle Effigy Pipe is 26-5/8" long. It is made out of Sacred Catlinite, which is commonly referred to by many as pipestone. Catlinite has been used for centuries by Native Americans to make ceremonial pipes and other items. It is a red stone that is believed to have originated from the blood of Native American ancestors.

The pipe bowl measures 6-5/8" long and is 4" tall. The pipe depicts a Bald Eagle descending on it's prey. It is very intricately carved with special attention being given to the tail, head, and wings of the bird.

The piece of stone used for the pipe was an exceptionally dark red piece. There is only 1 or 2 small "stars" that can be found in the entire pipe.

The stem is made of hardwood ash and is 20-3/4" long. It has excellent draw and will smoke great. It is decorated extensively with fancy traditional Sioux beadwork and long leather fringes. At the end of each individual fringe is a tin cone that has been treated in a special way to make it look antique. These tin cones make a very cool sounding "clickety-clack" noise when they bounce off of each other. The stem is also decorated with a couple of hand-painted feathers made to look like the tail feathers of an immature Bald Eagle. The feathers are suspended from the stum using a piece of leather and 2 additional tin cones.
