Here's another very unique item that I traded for several years ago.
It's a matching jade pipe and decorated stem, a beaded pipebag, and a beaded tamper.
The pipe bowl itself is an elbow style pipe made out of a green colored stone that I believe is jade. The stem is deocrated with a beautiful red, blue, black, and yellow beaded design, along with rabbit fur, and very tiny brass tacks. When the stem is inserted into the pipe bowl, it measures 12" long.
The tamper appears to be made out of the same type of wood that the stem is made out of and it has a matching design. It is 5" long.
The pipebag is app 14" long and has some very delicate fringes on it. The bag is decorated with the matching beaded design, a small amount of black hair (probably horse) attached to the bag with tin cones. This pipe has been smoked once or twice as you will notice a small amount of tobacco residue in the bowl.
There is a tag attached to the bag that says: "This piece is an original design by Michel Germain a Montagnais (Algonquian from the reservation Mashteuiatsh in Quebec, Canada. All his work is carefully handmade. He insists on keeping a traditional "feel" to all his creations and uses only high quality, authentic materials. Michel hopes you will share his pride in reliving the beauty of his native heritage. On the back side of this tag is a price tag of $675.00
Shipping for the pipe, stem, pipebag, and tamper to a U.S. address is $10.00
