catlinite Make A Native American Ceremonial Pipe - Want to Make Your Own Catlinite/Pipestone or Steatite Ceremonial Peace Pipe?
$80.00

This is an exceptionally nice piece of pipestone or Sacred Catlinite from the Pipestone National Monument Quarries! This piece will be ideal for someone who wants to make 1 or 2 ceremonial plains pipes out of. Another option might be to get 1 large plains and 2 small personal pipes with the cut-outs.

This type of high quality stone rarely comes up for sale. This is your opportunity to acquire a very nice piece of it.

This particular piece measures app 6" long x 3-3/4" tall and it's 2" thick. This piece will be gorgeous. It's bottom layer stone. This is the layer of stone that is often used for large, important, ceremonial pipes....

In our opinion, this stone is some of THE "best of the best" carving stone. It is the highest quality carving stone available anywhere in the world.

You will find that Sacred Pipestone is a joy to carve. It is softer than most carving stones and will hold exceptional detail. Sacred Catlinite is soft enough though that you can easily carve it with regular wood files. Catlinite stands up extremely well to intense heat, so it's ideal for making ceremonial pipes out of.

A piece of stone like this, if made into ceremonial pipes, could easily survive 100's of years if it is well cared for. This type of stone carves best using regular wood files and regular hacksaw blades in our opinion. It will also cut great using a bandsaw and a wood blade. It is soft enough that it will carve great with a regular pocket knife if you want to do some real delicate and detailed carving.

This particular piece of stone would also be perfect for a nice-sized ceremonial effigy pipe.
