Hatchet Pipes Native American Hatchet, Tomahawk Pipes - Native American Hatchet or Tomahawk Pipes
$70.00

The total length of this pipe is 11" long. The bowl measures 2-3/8" long and it is 3-1/2" tall. This is a "hatchet" or "Warriors" pipe, handcrafted out of Sacred Pipestone or Catlinite as it is commonly referred to. The pipe has etching on the front and back side. This pipe is very attractive. It is crafted out of the highly desirable "spotted" stone. (You'll be able to see several spots in the photo if you enlarge it) It has considerably more just like that on the other side of the pipe.

The etching towards the top of the bowl on both front and back is the "Indian Flag" or eagle staff. This is what you see at the grand entry when a pow-wow is beginning.

One side of the pipe has friendship feathers etched on it. The feathers are representative of 2 very close people who may be emotionally and spiritually attached. Could be brothers, best friends, husband and wife, grandfather and grandchild, or any relationship where two people have something like an inseparable bond between them.

The other side of the pipe has 3 trees etched on in. This can represent a couple of different things. One of the representations that I have been taught is that the trees stand for a person. The person is small when born and continues to grow as he gets older. It basically represents a papoose, a brave, and a warrior. The trees also can represent the entire family. As time passes the family continues to grow larger and more complete as new members are added.

The pipe is signed by "Hapan". The stem is made out of California Redwood. It is beaded in traditional Sioux fashion. The pipe is fully functional and will make a very good pipe for personal prayer. The size of it makes it ideal for that.

If you are interested in this pipe, or have any questions about it... and/or would like to see additional pictures, for ex: the other side of the pipe, a close-up of the burnings, etc..., please email us or give us a call.

Shipping for this item is $9.00
