4-Winds Traditional 4-Winds Pipes (T-pipes)
22-3/4" 4-Winds Pipe (Rings on Back)
$135.00

The total length of this catlinite pipe is 22-3/4" long. Catlinite or Pipestone as it is commonly referred to is a type of stone that has been used for ceremonial pipes for 100's of years. Catlinite pipes were most common among the Plains Indians, as the territory that the stone comes from was known as "Sioux" territory.

The beautiful ceremonial 4-winds bowl measures 6" long and it is 3-5/16" tall. This is a traditional 4-winds pipe. Most often on our 4-Winds bowls, we put the rings on the top part of the bowl. On this one, we decided to do it on the base of the bowl. This was commonly done by Hapan's parents and we really like the way it turned out. The pipe is nice and sleek and very attractive.

The rings and designs on this pipe were put on the pipe bowl after the pipe had been waxed. That allows you to see the natural color of the stone and provides for a nice contrast in the piece. This entire pipe is a beautiful dark red color with many spots or 'stars' interspersed throughout the stone. It is simply a gorgeous pipe.

The pipe is signed by 'Hapan'. The stem is made out of California Redwood. It is decorated with deer leather fringes and beaded in traditional Sioux style using the 4- direction colors.

The pipe is fully functional, will smoke great, and will make an outstanding ceremonial pipe for someone.
