4-Winds Native American Ceremonial 4 Winds Pipes - Traditional 4-Winds Pipes (T-pipes)
24-1/2" Catlinite 4-Winds Pipe
$140.00

The total length of this catlinite ceremonial pipe is 24-1/2" long. Catlinite or Pipestone as it is commonly referred to is a type of stone that has been used for ceremonial pipes for 100's of years. Catlinite pipes were most common among the Plains Indians, as the territory that the stone comes from was known as 'Sioux' territory.

The ceremonial 4-winds bowl measures 6-1/4" long and it's 3-1/2" tall. This is a traditional 4-winds pipe.

The rings and designs on this pipe were put on the pipe bowl after the pipe had been waxed. That allows you to see the natural color of the stone and provides for a nice contrast in the piece. This pipe is a beautiful dark red color over most of it, but you'll also notice a little color variation (different shades of red) throughout the pipe.

The pipe is signed by 'Hapan'. I do not know what type of wood the stem is made out of. It's some wood that my dad had in his back shed and he gave it to me to use for stems. The wood was extremely hard and I think it's absolutely gorgeous. The stem is 18-3/4" long and it was made into a diamond shaped stem. (typical of late 1800's type stems)

The pipe is fully functional, will smoke great, and will make an outstanding ceremonial pipe for someone.

Shipping for this item is $12.00 to anywhere in the continental U.S.
