Pipestone) bowl measures 3-5/8" long and it is 2-1/4" tall. This is a traditional plains style pipe. It is handcrafted out of Steatite. Steatite or Black Pipestone as it is often referred to, is a type of stone that has been used by Native Americans for ceremonial pipes for 1000's of years. Steatite pipes were most common among the Eastern tribes. Occasionally though, through trades this stone found it's way all the way to the Plains tribes and West Coast.
This is a nice 'chunky' pipe and would work for either a personal pipe or a ceremonial pipe.
The pipe is signed by "Hapan". The stem is made out of California Redwood. It is decorated with traditional Sioux beadwork & leather fringes.
