26" Native American Ceremonial Spotted Four Winds Pipe

The rings and designs on this pipe were put on the pipe bowl after the pipe had been waxed, which has become a pretty common practice for us, simply because people really seem to like it. It allows you to see the natural color of the stone and provides for a nice contrast in the piece.

The pipestone or catlinite that was used for this pipe is simply dazzling. It's a beautiful dark red color throughout all of the pipe. The stone is also very spotted throughout all of it. Stone like this, with all of these 'stars' in it, is some of the most sought after stone in the world. It's an exceptionally beautiful piece of stone.

The pipe is signed on the bottom by Hapan. The stem is made out of California Redwood. It has not been decorated at all. This allows the eventual caretakeer of the pipe to decorate it as he or she would like to, or it can be left just the way it is.
